NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) is an internationally recognized education nonprofit that activates the entrepreneurial mindset in young people. NFTE focuses its work on under-resourced communities, with programs in 19 locations in 9 countries.
The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) is seeking a Senior Events Associate. The Senior Events Associate will work closely with our Director of Events, the Marketing team, and the VP of Development as well as other staff in the field on all of NFTE’s annual events, including NFTE’s National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge, NFTE’s Global Showcase, and Signature Events for each of NFTE’s regional offices.
Role and Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Events with all event logistics: budget management and bookkeeping/payments, researching venues and catering, booking of meals and activities, and event follow-up
Coordinate travel for events staff to site visits and events as needed
Manage registration and confirmation paperwork or all participants
Arrange all travel and accommodations for participants/honorees and their guests
Contract photographers, videographers, caterers, florists, etc. (as necessary)
Compile and write all participant profiles for the program (also manages dissemination of that content, to be used variously by marketing department and field)
Assist marketing team with creation of honoree pages on the website, planning for social media campaign, and social media engagement during event
Order and assemble all NFTE branded collateral for events
Help with volunteer management
Help create in-house printed collateral
Put together welcome packets and informational material for attendees
Serve as a point of contact for honorees during an event and support their daily itinerary
Assist on-site with event management and follow up
Assist with management of the Events Division budget, including reconciliation of credit card each month
National Challenge specific
Manage all student PowerPoint presentation submissions
Manage Elevator Pitch submissions/uploading/launch
Compile judge packets
Signature Event specific
Write first draft of script and Run of Show for each event
Co-coordinate logistics for any other NFTE events including, but not limited to:
World Series of Innovation Celebration
Training events for NFTE staff
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Proficiency with Concur
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Outstanding writing ability
Familiarity with internet research
Ability to work evening hours (specifically early Oct., late March and May-June)
Ability to travel (specifically for site visits Dec.-Jan. and regional events May-June)
Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Suite skills helpful but not required
The position will require some travel
The position will be based in the New York Office, located in downtown Manhattan at 120 Wall Street, 18th Floor, New York, NY 10005
