Job Overview / Summary

Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) is looking for a Lead Development Associate to its add to its Marketing and Development Team.

The Lead Development Associate plays a key role between the development, marketing, engagement/operations, and finance departments. This position assists in relationship and grants management with NFTE donors, database management, analysis of donor trends, and online fundraising.

 

Primary responsibilities for the Lead Development Associate include, yet are not limited to:

Relationship and Grants Management

Work with development staff to coordinate the deliverables of multi-regional grants and relationships
Work with development staff to successfully track the submission and report deadlines of multi-regional grants
Research and provide prospect reports/profiles on future donors
Support various online giving platforms; creating projects and helping promote gift matching opportunities on the website

Manage databases in Raiser’s Edge/Salesforce
Support our communication efforts related to our social media, marketing, and newsletter blasts
Participate in general office tasks such as writing, editing, organizing/filing, and making thank you or follow-up phone calls as assigned
Assist with the planning and preparation for fundraising activities as needed
Work with all program and administrative staff to ensure effective communication between program and development staff
Attend networking events selected by NFTE staff to spread the NFTE brand throughout the community
Monitor outstanding pledges and grant proposals to track cash flow
Handle invoices and other required procedures needed to secure receipt of funding in timely manner
Work with HQ Development Associate on NFTE’s e-presence, managing regional donation webforms, social giving, and fundraising web pages
Perform additional duties as assigned/needed

Miscellaneous

Provide event support at NFTE’s National Business Plan Challenge, Global Showcase, and relevant Ignite Opportunity and other visibility events
Track text-to-pledge commitments from events
Manage paper appeals at the end of the calendar year and for other purposes
Provide administrative support to NFTE’s regional offices including scheduling meetings, preparing material, etc.

Job Requirements

Successful candidates will most closely meet the following qualifications:

BA/BS degree required; preferably in education or entrepreneurship, business, marketing, communications, PR, non-profit management, or business development preferred
Excellent communication skills—interpersonally, orally, and in writing
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, be detail-oriented, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated problem-solving and project managing experience
Strong organizational, time management, and follow-through skills
Good and sound judgment
Ability to work with minimal supervision
An individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who is innovative, flexible, persistent, and ambitious
Willingness to work some non-traditional hours
Problem solver with a high work ethic and critical thinking skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge NXT and Google Tools (Graphic/video editing and development skills strongly desired)
Effective with social media (Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Weebly, and Hootsuite)

Working Environment

Work will be completed on-site during standard business hours
Standard office work environment
Relocation assistance is not available for this role

Working environment:

This role will be performed from the office in Los Angeles California, located at 350 S. Bixel St, suite 280, Los Angeles CA 90017. Relocation assistance is not available for this role. Must have own reliable transportation.
